The Death Drawer (Girlhood)

It was Victorian custom for a woman to keep a drawer aside for funerary garments and treasured items that they would want to be buried with. These drawers began as early as girlhood, accumulating fragments of a life lived in preparation for the inevitable. Locked and hidden away.
